I combine my communications skills with a creative streak, a strong sense of usable design, and clean layout.
Experience
Formerly known as margodocs™, I have years of professional experience producing a wide range of documentation, for clients large and small. I also have five years of website experience.
To better reflect the broader scope of communications, I am transitioning to the name CommuniCrafter™.
Tools and Technologies
The following list summarizes the range of tools I have used.
- Word and FrameMaker for documents and manuals;
FrameMaker preferred for longer or more complex works - Acrobat for PDF files (Portable Document Format)
- PageMaker for internal company newsletters;
also know InDesign - RoboHelp and Microsoft Help Workshop for Windows-based help systems;
also Dreamweaver for HTML Help - PaintShop Pro and Photoshop for graphics creation and graphics editing
- Access database for internal company projects as well as for a large language-updating project;
also a donor database for a nonprofit organization - MySQL database learned (and continuing to learn more)
- XML and basic XSLT learned (and continuing to learn more)
- PHP, Javascript, and Javascript DOM scripting for various web sites
- HTML, DHTML, XHTML — by direct coding or in any GUI editor (such as Dreamweaver)
- CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) — by direct coding or in any GUI editor
